Greenville’s reputation is doing a complete 360. People are moving here like crazy. Last year, the town was in the media because of the clowns stalking the woods. This year, Greenville is in the media because of our culinary scene, festivals, farmers markets, and the fact that we are a small city that is much like a big city. Condé Nast’s Traveler magazine named the city number three in small city destinations throughout the U.S. The top five small cities on this list are: Charleston (SC), Aspen (CO), Greenville (SC), Santa Fe (NM), and Laguna Beach (CA).

With other cities like Aspen and Laguna Beach on the list, it’s hard to believe that Greenville is also up there. Living here for so long causes people not to see what a gem Greenville actually is. From our breathtaking scenery in the mountains to the mouthwatering food we have, Greenville has become one of the best small and cheap cities to reside in. Just our culinary scene has gotten us on several lists alone. The restaurants that are most recognized are: Grill Marks, Bacon Bros, Schwaben House, The Lazy Goat, and Smoke on the Water. Luckily the most underrated restaurants are not usually on these list, and can remain our beloved secret destinations.
