Valentines Day Oreo Bites

February 7, 2018

As Valentine’s day is quickly approaching, plans are being made for what to do on this day. If you plan on staying in, a perfect way to spend the night is baking. This is a simple recipe that takes very few ingredients. It is perfect to make if you want to do something small while you spend time with the people/person you care about.

Valentines Day Oreo Bites

  • 24 Oreos crushed
  • 5 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 12-14 oz. white chocolate melted
  • Heart cookie cutter
  • Sprinkles- optional

Start by crushing the Oreos. This can be done in a food processor or you can put them in a plastic bag and smash into fine crumbs.

After fully crushed, start on the cream cheese. Place it in the microwave for 20 seconds (10-second intervals) or until softened. Mix the cream cheese and Oreo together until smooth.

Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Then, smooth out the mixture on the baking sheet until it is about ½ inch thick. Place the tray in the freezer for 45 minutes or until it is hard enough to cut.

Cut out the bites, then place back in the freezer for 20-30 minutes (as the bites must be frozen to dip in chocolate).

Melt your chocolate, then take the bites from the freezer. One by one, dip one side in the chocolate. When set on the cooling rack or baking sheet, make sure the chocolate side is facing up. Before the chocolate cools, make sure to top with sprinkles.

When all the bites have cooled, enjoy! Store in a container in the fridge to stay fresh.

This recipe took very little time to make. Gabby Harrison, sophomore, helped out, and she agreed she would make them again. She said “It was an easy way to do something fun while getting to spend time with my friends. I love this recipe.” Along with being easy to make, the bites are pretty and taste great. They make a great treat to give to friends and family.
