With Valentine’s day right around the corner, there is little time to buy last minute gifts for loved ones. Local supplies of oversized stuffed animals and overpriced candy are depleting rapidly. So what does one who forgot about the mushiest day of the year do on such short notice?

Luckily, Wade Hampton High School’s very own Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club will be selling roses to the school starting February 5th! Both students and teachers can purchase these roses, and they will all be delivered during 2nd and 4th block on Valentine’s Day. FBLA members will be selling the roses in the cafeteria in the mornings and during every lunch. Also, these roses are delivered and packaged all on 14th, so they are guaranteed to be fresh.

These are great to send to loved ones, even if it is not a significant other. These roses can stand as a beautiful symbol of appreciation for friends and even teachers. Everyone loves to be reminded of how much other people care about them.

One rose is only $3, and there are discounts depending on how many are purchased together. For example, if someone buys two roses to send to the same person, then they are only $5, so there is a one dollar discount. The more roses someone buys, the more the discount increases.

All the money that FBLA gets from the roses goes back into the club. “The money goes to pay for events like state conference and national conference, lunch and learn programs, and other business education opportunities,” says Junior and FBLA officer Julianna Crawford. So, for every rose that is purchased, more money is put towards sending FBLA members to district and national competitions, as well as towards allowing the club to expose its members to various business opportunities.
