The 2018 Junior Marshals were recently announced to the student body. What does it take to be a Junior Marshal? They are the top twenty-four students in the class of 2019. Their academic performance exceeds the average student’s. These students take rigorous classes and work hard in the classroom to maintain high GPAs. They have been working since freshman year to achieve this prestigious position. Junior Marshal Elsah Napier said, “All of my hard work in high school was worth it.” They go above and beyond what is asked of them.

There is more to being a Junior Marshal than just getting out of school when the seniors get out and taking exams early. Junior Marshals help graduation run smoothly. They assist Coach Hunter and Mrs. Lavely during graduation practices and at actual graduation. Junior Marshals are in charge of leading seniors out in Timmons Arena, putting seniors in alphabetical order, and checking dress code. They are an integral part of graduation. Because they must be at graduation meetings and practices, they take exams and get out of school at the same time as seniors.

The 2018 Junior Marshals are Kaylee Adrien, Marian Benton, Lauren Best, Dallia Clark, Bailee Dover, Rachel Engasser, Hanaa Falous, Madison Frederick, Lucy Garcia, Stephen Griner, Hagen Hiott, Savannah Keating, Jennifer Khuu, Kelly Kiser, Audra McSharry, Elsah Napier, Priscilla Nguyen, Shane O’Boyle, Naama Rosen, Haley Steves, Leidy Velasquez Hernandez, Grace Wells, Emory Wyatt, and Georgia Yancey. Congratulate these fellow students, they have worked very hard to be Junior Marshals. They are truly leading like Generals.
