Looking for a winter themed activity in Greenville? I know just the place. Ice On Main is an open-air ice skating rink set up every year in the heart of downtown, more specifically on South Main Street. This year, the rink opened on November 16th and it will not close until January 21st.

Ice on Main is fun for everyone, even the inexperienced skaters. If one has never once had the chance to skate in their lives then that is completely fine because there are walker devices waiting for exactly that reason. For those who prefer to sit on the side and watch, there are lots of food and drink options on site. They even have the city’s very own Pink Mama’s, selling concessions during the event. These concessions include warm drinks such as hot chocolate (add marshmallows for fifty cents), warm cider, coffee, and hot tea all for a low price of $3 for regular size and $5 for the large size. That is not all: they also have cold drinks varying from one to $2, homemade treats for $3, and everyday snacks from $1-$5.

One may think it simply cannot get any better than this, but there are skating deals on top of it. On Tuesdays, it is only $5 to skate. This price is a pretty generous jump from the usual $10 for adults and $8 for children. Although there are also other exceptions to the ticket prices; if one has their own skates then they receive 50% off, if one brings a group of 15 or more then each only needs to pay $2, and one can also buy a season pass for $50 that will provide up to 10 visits. Worried that it will be too cold? No problem, gloves and socks are also on sale for $5 each. For these deals and the fun spent on the ice, everyone in Greenville should pay a visit to Ice On Main at least once this year.
