Good vs. evil. Cold vs. hot. Sour vs. sweet. None of these opposing forces come close to the two sides of one of the biggest internet wars in years; PewDiePie vs. T-Series. Since 2013, the well-known youtuber by the name of Felix Kjellberg, more commonly known by his YouTube and internet alias PewDiePie, has reigned as the number one most subscribed channel onYoutube. Recently, however, there has been a channel fighting for the number one spot by the name of T-Series, an Indian music record label and film production company, and, as the internet usually does, sides are being taken as to who deserves to rightfully own the number one spot.

Currently, PewDiePie is roughly ahead of T-Series by over 150,000 subscribers. With PewDiePie being a well respected youtuber and internet star, and the gap closing in with each passing day, some youtubers are going above and beyond in order to ensure that PewDiePie remains as the most subscribed channel. MrBeast, a youtuber made popular from extreme and unique challenges, even went as far as renting out a billboard advertising that everyone should subscribe to PewDiePie. This not only jump started the effort to save PewDiePie, but helped tremendously at the time.

Since the event, many other youtubers, small and large alike, have contributed to this war against T-Series in order to help ensure that PewDiePie stays the number one subscriber channel by any means necessary. Junior Logan Steele complements the effort to save PewDiePie, and recognizes PewDiePie’s importance in the YouTube community: “PewDiePie proved that even YouTube’s algorithms can be beaten by memes.”

Logan, along with many others, have all chosen to fight along side of PewDiePie by advocating for his success any way possible. With the subscriber gap between the two channel raging closer with each day, only time will tell who can truly be called the youtuber with the most subscribers.
