Wade Hampton has so many classes to offer that sometimes a few of them get lost in the mix, left unknown by many students. These classes need to have some light shed on them because with IGP meetings currently going on, everyone will have the chance to add some new things to their schedule.

One of the classes no one really knows about is Crafts, taught by Mrs. Ricker. This class is available for any skill level, students will get the chance to learn about decorative art and the culture of it. The projects for the crafts class vary anywhere from embroidery to Japanese stab binding which is a form of bookbinding.

Another class is Teacher Cadet which is taught by Mrs.Wright. Teacher Cadet is a college level course based on innovation and curriculum. This class gives high school students a look into the life of teaching. The curriculum has many standards related to those of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, NCATE, Association of Teacher Educators, ATE, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, NBPTS, and finally Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium InTASC. The Teacher Cadets website has more information on the class. Some of the other classes students are unaware of are the new dual credit health careers class and the speech and debate class. Senior Cayton Hadley said, “As a senior, it would have been cool to know about these classes, I might have even taken one if I knew about them.”
