Everyone knows they can study at Starbucks and Barnes & Noble, but those are only the most obvious of choices. What people do not seem to notice is that Greenville is a growing city, and with growing cities come local businesses. If the people of Greenville expect more growth, they must support these local businesses. This city has great places, other than well-known chains, to go that are mostly viewed as holes in the wall.

Many college and high school students continue to search on aimlessly for just that perfect spot to concentrate and carry out their goals. In order to succeed one must find this perfect spot. The best place to look, of course, is the very center of the city. Downtown Greenville has so many places just waiting to be discovered by those who need them.

Coffee Underground is a coffee house just off Main Street, right on E Coffee Street, that is way too underappreciated for the amount of time it has blessed Downtown Greenville with its presence. This cozy cafe presents customers with just the right kind of relaxed vibe that is required to get needed work done and prices are amazingly affordable. Junior Ann Elise Moody shares, “I feel like it is a very informal place with a great feel and it is also a fun place to go to hangout with friends after a study date since they also provide us with entertainment.”

Then there is Spill the Beans, known for their ice cream and coffee. This is a modern and reasonably priced establishment with great customer service. Most people just stop by for ice cream and leave, but these people are not aware of the magnificent and dimly lit section where they can study in the back of the cafe. With such great insulation and their rustic brick walls, Spill the Beans has a quiet and mellow mood that comes with it.

Finally, the newest of the three, Methodical Coffee, right on N Main Street, fosters a minimalist but beautiful environment. This is just the right fit for the person who feels they must sit in a nice, spacious, and brightly lit atmosphere. The staff is very personable. Although, the prices are somewhat on the higher end due to the gourmet title of the establishment.

When it comes to studying, where to go depends on the person and their individual preference in what is required for the appropriate concentration that is needed to succeed.
