The long rivalry against Eastside and Wade Hampton has existed for many years. For the last 11 years, in volleyball at least, Eastside has always seemed to take victory over the Generals, but the rolls seemed to have changed during the most recent game between the two teams. Last Wednesday, September 11th, the Wade Hampton Generals volleyball team played the Eagles at home. After a total of only three sets, the Generals clinched the victory over the Eagles. This win proved that the Lady Generals’ hard work and dedication to the team have paid off.

Senior and starter Ann Elise Moody was very proud of her team. She says, “This win was such a big deal for not only me personally but my team as well! Wade Hampton volleyball has not beat Eastside in 11 years. To have been a part of such a big moment in school history while playing alongside some of the most hardworking girls is very humbling. I used to play for Eastside so being able to beat them the way we did was super exciting. We played as a team and with that, we shut Eastside down.” Ann Elise´s teammate, senior and starter, Makenzie Kinne expresses, ¨beating Eastside felt accomplishing and encouraging to move forward with the rest of the season. My biggest goal for this season is to become regional champions for the first time in over 15 years.¨ The Lady Generals are now 5-2 in region play and now look to their next game against Woodmont on September 24th. Congratulations Lady Generals!
