Gossip Girl is rebooting in the near future.

Get ready Upper Eastsiders! The 2000s sensation is coming back to a TV near you. Warners Media HBO Max released this fall that they will be rebooting Gossip Girl soon. The reboot is supposed to replicate the original Gossip Girl, but in a new era of time. Potentially adding new technology trends to the storyline and making it a more modern show.

Many of the details (like potential actors and air dates) still have not been released to the public at this time. According to this article, “No word yet on whether or not any of the original series’ cast members will make an appearance — or, in narrator Kristen Bell’s case, be heard. There’s also no premiere date for Gossip Girl 2.0; however, WarnerMedia’s new streaming service launches in the spring of 2020.” Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, executive producers of the original Gossip Girl, will be producing the new one as well. Joshua Safran will also remain as EP and writer for Manhattan’s elite. The reboot of this TV show has excited many of its original viewers but some do not feel like the new version will top the old version. Senior Mackenzie Trotter does not care for the reboot to air. She states, “I’m actually not looking forward to the reboot. Reboots are never as good as the original version.”

The news of this revamp has created anticipation for viewers to see what will be made of this awesome series, but sadly, for now, fans must continue to watch the reruns of the original series until the new one airs.  -XOXO Gossip Girl.
