Looking for football to watch during the College and NFL’s offseason? Look no further than the XFL. The XFL is a new professional American football league that has started its first season on NBC. Founded by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment, the league has impressed its fan base. With eight teams, spread across the United States, the football league might just be the first league to challenge the NFL. Starting February 8, 2020, the eight teams will start a 10-week regular season to find the best of the best teams in the league. They will go head to head to get a spot at the championship game on April 26th, where two teams will play against each other to determine who is the best in the league.

According to the article, “The XFL is a brand new, fan-first league that’s re-imagining the game of football and offering fans an opportunity to experience more action, access, and fun. We’re evolving things just a bit. Less stall, more ball is how we describe it: a fast-paced game with fewer play stoppages. With input from our coaches, players, and fans, we’re creating a game that is totally familiar with a few twists.” One twist the XFL gives is fans can listen to sideline commentary from the coaches and players. Senior Manuel Yantez states, “I enjoy that they let the players talk to the audience, it gives their perspective, and it shows that they are real people just like us.” The XFL might just be the new spring sport football fans have been looking for.
